Leadership Shake-Ups Across Several Weed Companies: Who Got The Top Jobs?

New Board Appointments

Two Canadian cannabis and hemp-focused operators announced board changes over the past week.

The Hempshire Group, Inc. (TSXV:HMPG), formerly Hoist Capital Corp., reported that Gail Hannon opted to resign as a director effective June 30.
ZYUS Life Sciences Corp. (TSXV:ZYUS) announced that Wayne Brownlee, former vice-president and CFO of both Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. and Nutrien Ltd., was appointed to the company's board of directors.

Four Companies Elect Directors

Shareholders at four cannabis companies announced results from their annual meetings recently, including:

Glass House Brands Inc.'s (NEO: GLAS.A.U) (NEO: GLAS.WT.U) (OTCQX:GLASF) (OTCQX:GHBWF) shareholders elected all eight nominees for the board of directors, including Kyle Kazan, Graham Farrar, Robert (Jamie) Mendola, Humble Lukanga, Jocelyn Rosenwald, George Raveling, Hector De La Torre and Robert (Bob) Hoban.
MediPharm Labs Corp.'s (TSX:LABS) (OTCQX:MEDIF) (FSE: MLZ) shareholders named board directors as well by electing six nominees, including Michael Bumby, Chris Halyk, Miriam McDonald, David Pidduck, Shelley Potts and Chris Taves.
Auxly Cannabis Group Inc.'s (TSX:XLY) (OTCQB:CBWTF) shareholders elected each of the directors listed as nominees, including Genevieve Young, Hugo Alves, Troy Grant, Vikram Bawa, Conrad Tate and Murray McGowan.
Delta 9 Cannabis Inc.'s (TSX:DN) (OTCQX:DLTNF) shareholders voted in favor of re-electing the five directors, including John William Arbuthnot III, John William Arbuthnot IV, Nitin Kaushal, Stuart Starkey and Hugh Aird.

Other Industry Appointments

Würk, a human capital management company for the cannabis industry, welcomed Jennifer Meadows to serve as chief operating officer. Meadows will lead processes across Würk, develop business strategies and strategically execute the company's goals for the future. She will be responsible for the implementations, product, tax, money movement and operations teams.
Flora Growth Corp. (NASDAQ:FLGC) tapped Clifford Starke to serve as CEO and lead its global operations and Dany Vaiman to oversee its financial department as CFO.
Acreage Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX:ACRHF) has named Carl Nesbitt as its new CFO, effective July 3. Nesbitt brings over 25 years of financial leadership experience to the New York-based company, having spent more than two decades working within the consumer packaged goods industry. Most recently, he served as CFO at Nutritional Frontiers Inc. He also held the role of vice president of finance for GlaxoSmithKline's North American Consumer Healthcare business.
Ally Biotech, a science-based company and provider of leading-edge bioactive delivery solutions for cannabinoids, recently tapped Charles C. Johnson, Ph.D., as chief science officer. Johnson comes to Ally Biotech with decades of experience in FDA regulatory compliance, LEAN (TPS) principles in product development and manufacturing, competitive market analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and technical sales.
