Pedal To Paradise: Hyatt Hotels And Peloton Team Up To Redefine Hospitality Fitness

Author: Shivani Kumaresan | May 01, 2024 12:47pm

Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s (NYSE:H) loyalty program, World of Hyatt, has partnered with Peloton Interactive Inc (NASDAQ:PTON) to become the premier global hospitality loyalty program rewarding members for their wellness pursuits.

Members will now earn World of Hyatt points when utilizing Peloton equipment at Hyatt properties in Peloton-operating countries, enhancing opportunities for future bookings, upgrades, and experiences.

The collaboration is set to host 800 plus Hyatt properties with Peloton equipment and provide access to Peloton classes on guestroom TVs at nearly 400 properties.

Peloton Bikes will be available at all Hyatt hotels in markets where Peloton operates, including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Germany, Austria, and Australia.

Select U.S. Hyatt luxury and lifestyle hotels will also feature the Peloton Row. The collaboration may extend the Peloton experience to Hyatt properties in other markets in the future.

Hyatt’s booking data reflects a growing traveler interest in health and wellness amenities, a trend the brand is embracing by joining forces with Peloton.

The collaboration aims to promote wellbeing among Hyatt guests and Peloton Members during travel, offering access to Peloton classes and equipment at select properties.

The announcement precedes Peloton’s third-quarter earnings release, where a 4% revenue decline is anticipated, continuing a trend of sales downturns, reported Bloomberg

The report further noted that CEO Barry McCarthy, orchestrating various partnerships including Lululemon Athletica Inc (NASDAQ:LULU), Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN), and Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE:DKS), aims to expand Peloton’s market presence.

This collaboration mirrors Peloton’s previous deal with Hilton in 2022, illustrating efforts to extend its equipment into hospitality venues.

Hyatt stock gained more than 28% in the last 12 months. Investors can gain exposure to the stock via American Customer Satisfaction ETF (BATS:ACSI) and Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund ETF (NYSE:VTI).

Price Action: H shares are trading lower by 0.36% at $148.26 at the last check Wednesday.
