The latest addition to the Alaska A family is built on a 5nm process and utilizes Marvell’s PAM4 DSP technology to enable short-reach copper interconnect solutions for accelerated infrastructure.

According to 650 Group, the AEC silicon market is expected to grow at 64% annually, reaching $1 billion by 2028.

Alan Weckel, co-founder of 650 Group, noted, “AI is driving the need for short-reach copper connectivity at 1.6T. Marvell’s introduction of its Alaska 1.6T AEC DSP continues the company’s history of delivering top-tier PAM DSPs, enabling cable vendors to offer optimized interconnect solutions for different cloud AI architectures.”

Analysts noted that Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ:AVGO) and Marvell lead the surging $20 billion—$30 billion custom chip (ASIC) market, which is driven by the generative AI frenzy.

Price Action: MRVL shares traded higher by 1.24% at $69.10 at the last check Thursday.
