NIO Inc. (NYSE:NIO) reportedly launched the Banyan 2.6.5 CN system for vehicles utilizing the NT 2.0 technology platform on July 11.

This update introduces enhanced AEB (automatic emergency braking) functionality, which has been fine-tuned with artificial intelligence technology, CnEV Post reported.

According to an update log on the Nio App, the enhanced AEB feature now improves the vehicle’s capability to detect and avoid vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians crossing diagonally ahead, the report read.

This update marks a milestone in the industry, as it is the first AEB system to integrate end-to-end technology.

By leveraging insights gained from human driving experiences, the system enhances its ability to accurately determine the location, direction of travel, and speed of targets in front of the vehicle.

This advancement aims to further minimize the risk of collisions, CnEV Post added.

Zhang Weifeng, Nio’s smart driving product manager, stated in a video posted on Weibo today that the enhanced AEB utilizing end-to-end technology can handle more hazardous scenarios with greater precision in braking timing compared to traditional AEB systems, the report read.

In the Banyan 2.6.5 CN system update, Nio has also enhanced its NOP+ (Navigate on Pilot Plus) capabilities, significantly improving its ability to navigate through full scenarios.

Price Action: NIO shares are trading higher by 2.36% to $4.79 at last check Friday.
