Apple Higher Education Offer Spans Globe, Gives Discounts To College Students

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) once again offering lower prices on its products for college students heading back to school in the fall through its yearly Higher Education Offer, formerly known as its Back To School promotion.

The global sales drive, which has a new name to communicate its exclusive focus on college students, began in the U.S., Canada and India in June and has been running in the U.K. and Europe since early July, MacWorld reported. Apple is handing out gift cards in the U.S., U.K. and Canada while giving discounts on AirPods in Europe and India.

The Higher Education Offer kicked off on June 20 and will end on Sept. 30 in the U.S., Canada and India. It began on July 3 and will stop on Oct. 21 in the U.K. and Europe.

The deal, which usually ends about a month after the first semester, has already taken place in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and South Korea from January to mid-March.

Higher Education Offer deals include getting $100 and $150 gift card for buying Mac computers and iPad tablets, a 20% discount off AppleCare technical support services and an Apple Pencil Pro for $119.

Apple’s Education Store also offers product discounts to students all year long.

Price Action: Apple Inc., which is scheduled to release third-quarter earnings after Thursday’s close, rose 1.01% to $224.32 in Thursday’s premarket trading, while exchange-traded funds that hold the stock also trended upward.
