BYD Co., Ltd. (OTC:BYDDY) initially introduced the Ocean-M concept at the Beijing auto show in late April, and the production model is now set to be revealed.

Zhang Zhuo, head of BYD’s Ocean series, reportedly confirmed that the production version will be called the Seal 06 GT, reported CnEV Post.

The model will be revealed at the Chengdu auto show on August 30 and is designed to be the preferred GT option for young people, according to him.

This year’s Chengdu auto show will run from August 30 to September 8 in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province in southwest China.

Zhang stated today that the Seal 06 GT is an all-electric mid-size sedan built on BYD’s latest e-Platform 3.0 Evo.

The Ocean-M was introduced at the 2024 Beijing auto show in late April, and was noted as the industry’s first rear-wheel-drive performance hatchback, CnEV Post added.

BYD announced that the production version of the Ocean-M will be available for purchase in the third quarter of this year, with prices ranging from RMB150,000 ($21,020) to RMB200,000.
