Honda Motor will reduce staffing at its Chinese joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group, Nikkei learned Monday, the Japanese automaker's second joint venture in China to undergo job cuts as the country's consumers shift away from gas engine cars.

Dongfeng Honda Automobile in late August began seeking volunteers for early retirement. The recruitment drive ended this month.
