On September 17, 2025, Paramont Contura, LLC ("Paramont"), an indirect subsidiary of Alpha Metallurgical Resources, Inc., received an imminent danger order issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration ("MSHA") under section 107(a) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977. The order was issued at the face up area for Deep Mine 46 (the "Mine"), located near Nora, Virginia.

The order alleged that several small rocks were observed to be dislodged in connection with work on the berm above the primary haul road for the Mine and that these rocks traveled into and across the haul road. No injuries or property damage occurred in connection with the alleged conditions, and the order has since been terminated.
